Green neighbourhood park among high-rise buildings in Singapore

How might we design a future neighbourhood that is liveable, sustainable, inclusive, connected and enjoyable for the people who live there?

Pilot concept

What participants will explore

  • Understand how planning choices shape a neighbourhood.
  • Observe sustainability features in a real community.
  • Consider different residents and their daily needs.
  • Explain trade-offs between different design options.
  • Collaborate and present a future neighbourhood proposal.

Team output on the day

  • A simple neighbourhood plan or visual concept.
  • Three to five key design features with clear reasons.
  • Evidence and examples from both site visits.
  • An explanation of how the design supports different residents.
  • A short presentation and questions during the Future City Forum.

This one-day pilot tests the concept for a future five-day programme. It is not a compressed five-day camp.
